This guide is meant to provide the information to help you get off to a great and productive start and find your way to access the simulations as easy as possible.

Labster provides access by using 2 different options and the way you access the simulations depends on the request from the educational institution that is using the simulations as part of their curriculum. Therefore, you need pay great deal of attention to the emails you receive from your instructor regarding the use of Labster.

The agreement between your institution and Labster defines whether you need to have a course code, a voucher code from your campus bookstore and a Labster account or not. What you need to have solely depends on the access method that your institution is going to use and it is always one of these 2 options below:

Option 1: Through Your School's Learning Management System (Blackboard, Brightspace, Canvas, Moodle or Sakai)

Find simulations on your LMS
For the institutions that have requested a learning management system (LMS) integration, we provide access through your course pages on your school's LMS meaning that you can find the simulations as assignments in your course module. In this case, you do NOT need to create a Labster account or use a course code. You simply log in with your school email on your LMS, find your course and launch one of the simulations there.

Payments
If you are required to make an individual payment, you will be prompted on the screen right after you launch a simulation on your LMS and you can make a payment there by choosing between card option or bookstore voucher code option. You complete all the actions on your LMS and you do NOT need to create or use a Labster account.

No course code required
The courses that are setup on an LMS do not require a course code as the enrollment is completed by your instructor who created the course/module.

For more information
If you are not sure which access method you need to follow, please contact your instructor first. Once you confirm with your instructor which method your institution is going to use, please go through the related articles here.

Option 2: Through Labster.com (EdX Platform)

For the institutions that have NOT requested a learning management system (LMS) integration or simply do not have time for it, we always provide access through Labster.com (EdX). According to this configuration, you must have the following as a student:

A Labster account
To access the simulations, you need to create a Labster account.  For this purpose, we always recommend using your student email which makes it easy for your instructor to see your school email rather than your personal one.

A course code
Each course has a unique 10-digit course code which should be used by all students who are enrolled or would like to enroll in the course. A course code can you give you access to the simulations IF the cost is covered by your school. For each course, you will need a separate code. Each course code starts with the letters "CC" and they are provided by your instructor.

A voucher code
Most of the universities in Europe do not ask students to make individual payments. However, if you are a student in North America, you will most likely be required to make an individual payment after the grace (add/drop) period is expired. If this is the case and you are required to make an individual payment, you have 2 options: Either a debit/credit card payment OR a bookstore voucher. You can make a payment right after you launch a simulation through your dashboard and select between card payment OR voucher.
