When importing a common cartridge file, sometimes you might see the error messages below. Please note that they might vary depending on the Learning Management System (Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, Sakai, D2L, Schoology, etc.)

Here are the most frequent ones:

This error message shows up after importing the common cartridge file. The system throws this error message because the Labster <> LMS Integration has not been done yet.

For this case, we suggest you to reach out to your school's LMS Admin, also known as eLearning specialist or sometimes it is one of the IT department employees. They will be able to give you an estimate of when this will be done and they will have the contact of our implementation specialist responsible for your school's integration.

If you just downloaded a common cartridge file from our Faculty Resources Page and bumped into this error message after importing the file, it is because the common cartridge file is empty. It happens if you don't select the simulations and just hit download.

Please make sure you click on the + button to the right of each simulation you want to import:

Labster's assignments have been doubled in my LMS & grade book

In case you have been provided with several common cartridge files, you need to remove simulation duplicates in the course before publishing the assignments. In case a simulation appears twice under the Assignments section, it will also appear twice in the LMS grade book.

Solution: Under teacher Assignments, you will have the option to delete/uncheck the simulations. (Canvas example)

The file is not readable/there is no simulation in my common cartridge ("The common cartridge version is specified as 1.1.0, but the package file extension is not .imscc.")

If you downloaded the common cartridge from the FRP (Faculty Resources Page), you might have forgotten to select the simulations before downloading the file.

How to download common cartridges from our new Faculty Resource Page

You can't find the .zip file in your Downloads folder

If you are using macOS (Macbook), clicking on a zipped file will automatically unzip it. Once you download your common cartridge file, simply go to your course shell and upload your common cartridge file directly from there.
