(Instructor) Labster Dashboard: Follow your student's scores and progress

What is Labster Dashboard and how can I access it?

The Instructor Dashboard will help you to track the score and progress of your students.

It allows you a detailed view and analysis of your students' attempts. At any percentage of completion, you can see which simulations they have started, their score, the number of attempts, etc.

To access your Dashboard, you have a few possibilities:

  • Click on a simulation to launch it and then, you’ll be able to see the option on the sidebar;

  • From the left-hand side panel of your LMS, access the link under the Labster Simulations menu.

  • If you are using Labster's new Course Manager, please read more about tracking your students' progress here.

What information can I find there?

Labster Dashboard allows you to:

  1. See the details of your students attempts:

  • Number of Attempts: The number of times a student tried the simulation,

  • Score in %: This is calculated by taking the number of points the student achieved divided by the total number of possible points,

  • Completion %: The percentage of the simulation that a student has completed,

  • See the details of the attempts (replies to the quiz and date of completion),

2. Adjust the settings and the information that you want to see

By default, you will see all the simulations in your dashboard but you can adjust the settings to view only a few simulations and adjust the information.

Click on “Settings” on the top right, then you can:

  • Select to view only specific simulations by clicking on them (the name will switch to green) or choose “select all”.

  • In both scenarios, don’t forget to hit “Continue” to apply those changes!

  • Update the completion and score threshold!

Another helping feature is to select to view the Best or the First attempt from the drop-down menu on the top left of your screen.

Click on an attempt to view more details, including downloadable quiz question answers:

Please keep in mind that, if you change the settings inside your Labster Dashboard, it won’t affect your student's grade in the LMS Gradebook. Labster Dashboard helps you only to view and follow your student's attempts without influencing the LMS settings.

What is the difference between the LMS Gradebook and Labster Dashboard?

The Gradebook helps instructors easily view and enter grades for students when they have completed an assignment, it is a feature inside your LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle..).

Labster Dashboard is an additional tool related to Labster and not your LMS. If you change the settings inside your Labster Dashboard, it won’t affect your students' grades in the LMS gradebook: Labster Dashboard helps you only to view and follow your student's attempts with more details.
