Can my device run Labster simulations?

The following are the minimum specifications for running Labster simulation on your device

To make the most of Labster simulations, it's important to have a device with the specified requirements and a reliable internet connection. Labster simulations are available online and need a certain amount of memory on your device to function properly.

🖥️Computer and Laptop

Hardware Recommendations

  • Processor: Dual-core 2.0 GHz or higher (To ensure the best experience, we recommend using a processor capable of reaching a boost speed of at least 3.0 GHz)

  • RAM: 4 GB or more

  • Graphics card: Intel UHD 600 or higher

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit) and newer, macOS 10.15: Catalina (64-bit) and newer

Network and Browsers

  • A stable 3G Connection (1.1Mbps) or better - To check your internet speed, use this link.

  • Supported browsers: Latest version of Firefox and Chrome

    Note: Labster is exclusively compatible with Google Chrome version 114 and higher. Here is how to update your Chrome browser: Update Google Chrome

❌Safari, Edge, and Opera are NOT supported (it can cause glitches, bugs, and grade syncing issues).

✅Start and play your simulation from Firefox or Chrome browser.



📱iPad

Devices and iOS recommendations

  • Devices: iPad 5th Gen, iPad Mini 4, iPad Air 2, iPad Pro, and newer

    📵Please note that we do NOT support simulation plays on iPhones or other smartphones.

  • iOS: iOS 15 or higher

Labster app/Browser, and Network Recommendations

  • A stable 3G Connection (1.1Mbps) or better - To check your internet speed, please use this link.

  • Please use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox in its latest version.

    Safari will be the browser per default but we do NOT support this browser, please make sure to start your attempt from Chrome or Firefox.

💻Chromebook

Hardware Recommendations

  • Processor: MediaTek 8173C or Intel® Celeron® Dual-Core N4020 or higher.

  • RAM: 4 GB or more

  • Graphics card: IMG PowerVR GX6250 / Integrated Intel HD Graphics or higher

  • OS: The latest version of ChromeOS (64-bit) and using the Latest WebView

  • Android Version: Android 5 or Higher

Network and Browsers

  • A stable 3G Connection (1.1Mbps) or better - To check your internet speed, please use this link.

  • Please use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox in its latest version.

    Note: Labster is exclusively compatible with Google Chrome version 114 and higher. Here is how to update your Chromebook OS

👉We highly recommend playing our simulation from Labster'app if you have a Chromebook, specifically on lower-end Chromebooks such as Lenovo E100 gen1 and gen2 (and others using the Mediatek Chipset).

Performance Feature

To enhance user experience, Labster now offer three different playing modes:

  1. Energy Saver Mode: Ideal for conserving battery life and optimizing performance on lower-end devices.

  2. Balance Mode: Offers a balance between performance and quality, providing a smooth experience without heavily taxing your device.

  3. Quality Mode: Designed for high-end devices, this mode maximizes visual fidelity and overall quality for the best possible experience.

VR

Labster only offers web-based virtual labs.

Google is dropping support of its virtual reality platform (Daydream).

As a result, Labster has paused all support for our virtual reality (VR) simulations as of January 1, 2021. Our focus will be to grow and improve our web-based virtual labs.
