What information is available on the dashboard?
Labster equips educators with detailed insights into student performance. Once students complete Labster simulations, as an instructor you will have access to the following information:
Completion %: The percentage of the simulation that a student has completed
Score: This is calculated by taking the number of points the student achieved divided by the total number of possible points. Simulations have a varied number of total points based on the number of quiz questions.
Number of Attempts: The number of times a student attempts the simulation
Individual responses: Details about how many tries it took to answer each question correctly
Time Taken: Total time taken for the student to complete the simulation
Where can I access the dashboard?
1. Course Manager Users - my.labster.com
If you and your students are accessing Labster simulations through my.labster.com, you will be able to click on the ‘Grades’ tab under any of your classes.
2. LMS (Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, etc)
If you and your students are accessing Labster simulations through your Learning Management System, you will need to ‘add’ the Labster Dashboard to your course in the same way you add a simulation. When you click on it you will similarly be able to click on the ‘grades’ tab under the course.
You will be able to see students' progress in two ways:
1.) Per Simulation:
a) You can browse through the simulations you shared in your course
b) You can see each student's score for the simulation you have selected
c) You can download the Grade data & Engagement data
2.) Per Student:
a) You can choose a student to view their scores
b) You can search for a simulation
Additionally, you will be able to click on the student's score and access all the answers to the quiz questions the student was asked when completing the simulation. (Click on a simulation, and click on the attempt you want information for)
What if I am using Labster through my Learning Management System?
You can access the Labster dashboard, by 'adding' it as an assignment using the Labster external tool. The Gradebook helps instructors easily view and enter grades for students when they have completed an assignment, it is a feature inside your Learning Management System (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle..).
If you are accessing Labster simulations through your Learning Management System, your students’ final simulation grade will be passed to the gradebook. If you are interested in accessing all the other details about your students’ Labster attempts, please use the Labster Dashboard.
