Updated over 5 months ago

In this article, we will cover how to add Labster simulations to your courses. Since your institution has chosen to integrate Labster with your LMS, we'll walk you through the steps to ensure accessing Labster is simple and easy to follow for everyone.

โš ๏ธThrough Canvas course Assignments view you can only add Labster simulations to you course one by one.

If you want to add multiple simulations to your course at once, you will need to use the Canvas course Modules flow. Please refer to this article that explains how to do it

Important note

  • Before you can add Labster simulations to your course, the LMS Administrator of your Institution needs to set up Labster tool. This technical step can only be perform by the IT team.

  • You'll need to be logged in to the LMS with either teacher or administrator access to make changes to your course and add Labster Simulation.

  • If Labster isn't set up yet, please ask your LMS administrator to reach out to your Labster Customer Success Manager for help

  • You need both Lasbter set-up as a tool in your LMS and an active license to access Labster

Canvas Assignment Settings

Labster automatically synchronizes with the assignment settings in Canvas. This means that any configurations you apply to assignments in Canvas will also affect Labster simulations, with Canvas overseeing these settings. Below we will mention how some assignment settings work with Labster:

  1. Submission Attempts: Determines the number of attempts students have to submit their work. It is important to note that students will still be able to play the simulations but their attempts will not be graded.

  2. Due Date: The deadline for assignment submission. It is important to note that students will still be able to play the simulation past the due date and their attempt will be submitted as "LATE" in your grade book.

  3. Available From/Until: Defines the period during which students can access and submit the assignment. After the 'Until' date, students will no longer have the ability to engage with or submit the simulation.
