Labster’s Course Manager and Catalog allow students and educators to access, review, assign, play, and track the progress of Labster’s vast library of virtual lab simulations.
In addition to the hundreds of virtual labs that have already been translated into non-English languages, you can now set your entire logged-in Labster account experience to appear in Spanish, French, German, or Italian.
While the platform supports several major languages, some simulations may be restricted to English only, depending on their availability.
The default language is English.
Setting Your Language
To edit your language, log in to Labster and click on the down arrow menu in the top left corner or locate the gear/settings icon, depending on your interface. Then, open Account Settings > Language and select your desired language for both the Course Manager interface and the simulations themselves. If you need to apply the changes while in a simulation, first exit the simulation entirely and return to the summary page to make the adjustment.
(Choose your language setting for both Course Manager and the simulation experiences. Account Settings can be opened from the drop-down menu in the upper-left-hand corner.)
Many of Labster’s most popular simulations are available in multiple languages as well. Students can change the simulation language under Account Settings – or by simply opening the Settings drop-down next to the simulation itself.
If you only see English as an option, it is possible that the simulation has not yet been translated into your desired language. In such cases, note the simulation name and consult Labster's support for confirmation or updates. For example, the simulation "Body Structure and Organization" is only available in English, highlighting specific limitations.
(Students can click on a simulation that appears in their Course and edit their language setting.)
Setting Your Language (LMS)
You can also change your language for both the simulations and the Labster Dashboard interface if you use the LMS-integrated version of Labster. To do so, first, log into your LMS, and head to your course as usual. Then, click on the Labster Dashboard in your assignments page.
Next, click on the down arrow next to your name at the top left, and click on 'Account Settings.' Scroll down until you see 'Language,' and you can select your language for both the simulations and the Dashboard interface.
Please note: The instructor first needs to add the Labster Dashboard to the course in order for it to be available to students. The Dashboard is added in the same way as the simulations, and more details for that can be found here.
Troubleshooting Language Availability Issues
If your desired language is not displayed, first verify that you have selected the correct language in Account Settings and restart the simulation interface.
Confirm whether the specific simulation supports your language by checking with Labster’s support team. Provide the simulation name for clarity.
