Troubleshooting issues/glitches when using the Labster native app on supported devices

Some users may encounter errors, glitches, or other issues when using the Labster app to play simulations. This article will help you diagnose and troubleshoot these issues to make sure you have a smooth experience.

Ensure your device is compatible and that the simulation you wish to play is supported by the app.

  1. Your device

    Labster app is compatible with iPads and Chromebooks. Check out the following article to ensure your device is compatible with Labster simulations.

  2. The simulation

    Not every simulation is currently compatible with the app. If you spot an Apple logo beside a simulation, it means it's supported on iPads. Similarly, if you see the Chromebook logo, that particular simulation is compatible with supported Chromebooks:


Ensure you are following the correct steps to launch simulations in the app

To launch simulations in the app, on your iPad or Chromebook, you need to follow these steps:

iPad:

Chromebook:


Troubleshoot errors or issues when using the native app

'E1002' error (Missing validation cookie)

Please make sure that cookies are enabled on your device.

Note: Labster requires Google Chrome version 114 or higher to function properly.

Here is how to update your Chrome browser: Update Google Chrome


'E1003' error or missing 'Play in app' button

If you don't see the Play in app button, or you're seeing the E1003 error, please follow these troubleshooting steps:

On your iPad, Go to Settings and select Safari, then turn off the Block Pop-ups option:

Next, go to Settings and select Chrome, and make sure that:

  • The Default Browser App is set to Chrome

  • Allow Cross-Website Tracking option is enabled

Lastly, open Chrome, open the menu and click on the Settings option:

Then, scroll down and select the Content Settings option:

Here, please make sure that:

  • Block Pop-Ups option is set to Off

  • Default site view is set to Mobile

  • Troubleshooting for Chromebooks:

  1. Make sure cookies are enabled in Chrome

  2. Make sure you are not using Incognito mode

  3. Update your Chrome OS to the latest version

    Note: Labster requires Google Chrome version 114 or higher to function properly. If your Chromebook cannot be updated, you might not be able to use it to play Labster simulations.


The simulations are crashing or glitching

  1. Make sure your device is up to date:

  2. Restart your device

  3. Make sure you have a stable and strong internet connection

  4. Plug your device in and make sure it's charging as this will increase performance
