Each simulation has a different number of quiz questions, usually between 15 and 40. Therefore, the maximum scores can range from 150 to 400 depending on the simulation. It is necessary to answer each quiz question correctly in order to be able to move to the next step.
The number of points received per question is calculated as follows:
Question is answered correctly 1st time: 10 points.
Question answered correctly 2nd time (1 wrong answer): 8 points.
Question answered correctly 3rd time (2 wrong answers): 6 points.
Question answered correctly 4th time (3 wrong answers): 4 points.
Question answered correctly 5th time (4 wrong answers): 2 points.
2 points is the lowest number of points that can be received per question, regardless of the number of wrong answers.
To prevent cheating or students intentionally trying to inflate their grades, our system keeps the first answer to a quiz question (whether wrong or correct) after a long pause or several loads from the last checkpoint. This way, only the initial grade received in the attempt (prior to any corrections made) will be sent to the LMS gradebook and will be visible on the Dashboard. If there is a difference between the score at the end of the simulation and the grade in the Labster Dashboard, the correct grade is the one in the Dashboard.
Depending on the instructors' preferences, students may be encouraged to play their simulations multiple times until they achieve their desired score. However, the best grade is contingent upon students answering the questions correctly in subsequent attempts; not correcting the answers in the same attempt.
You can see your grades in your Labster Dashboard. See below how to access your Dashboard if you are a:
